Tokachigawa Spa in Otofuke is approximately a 20-minute drive from the center of Obihiro. The hot spring was discovered and developed by Hoshu Hayashi, the founder of Tokachi Mainichi Newspaper. The resort is famous for its peat hot spring water, one of only two places in the world. Tokachigawa Spa is a tourist spot where you can be in harmony with the natural surroundings. In the winter it is possible to see over 1,000 swans on the banks of the Tokachi River in front of the hotel.

   Daiichi Hotel / Hoshu-tei, which stands by the Tokachi River, is popular not only for its hot spring but also for its hearty hospitality and dishes. It has 112 guestrooms and capable of holding 500 guests at maximum.

   Sanyo-an, an annex to the hotel that opened in January 2004, is a high-class hot spring hotel. Its design concept was "hospitality for the five senses." It only has 11 guestrooms and the services and meals are provided to allow the guests to have their own space, and move at their own pace so they can relax on their own terms.
